Writing to say how happy we are as a family with the care our father is receiving at the Mayfield in Prescott. Our dad has been a resident at the Mayfield since August 2024 as well he had a respite stay November 2023 previous to that for 1 month.
The care he has received has been excellent. The PSW’s are very caring and really get to know the residents well. The nursing care as well has been top notch. My dad has made friends and is socially more active ( at 95) than he has been in years. Can’t say anything negative – only positive things have been our experience! When reaching out for help – be it nursing care or maintenance issue – things are always attended to promptly.
My dad is very happy at the Mayfield and that is what matters.

My Dad is now a resident at the Mayfield and he couldn’t have chosen a better retirement home for himself. The minute we walked through the door for our tour, we were greeted with such warmth, caring and friendliness that I knew my Dad had found the place for him. The Mayfield is well maintained and ensuring residents safety is a priority. My Dad is enjoying every minute of the activities, socializing with fellow residents, the variety of meals and being able to continue with his independence. The staff at the Mayfield are incredible as they made my Dad feel valued, cared for and part of the community from day one. It is never easy having your parent make this step, but the Mayfield most certainly made my Dad’s transition a smooth one.

Laurie & Lana’s activities are wonderful. I was a nursery school teacher for several years in Toronto and find the activities most interesting.

My Mom is 89 and living at the Mayfield, it was a big move having lived in Toronto all of her life. We were nervous about the transition but we couldn’t be happier now that she is settled in. We toured every residence in Prescott and the Mayfield stood out above and beyond.
The staff are incredible ! They all engage with the residents and really get to know them. The activities are fun and enriching. We were particularly taken that The Mayfield allows the residence to participate in Community Outreach, preparing soups and salads for The Light House shelter, filling purses for Women’s shelters, sponsoring a family at Christmas.
These type of activities give the residents a sense of worth and connect them with the community.
